KENNESAW, Ga. — August 17, 2025 — Yamaha WaterCraft, the leader in jet-powered marine innovation, today unveiled the CrossWave™ WaveRunner®, an entirely new kind of personal watercraft designed for today’s lifestyle-driven rider. The CrossWave challenges the boundaries of the emerging Adventure category — combining Yamaha’s legendary performance with full walkaround versatility, expansive deck space, and true multi-use capability. This isn’t just a new model. It’s the most adaptable, most purpose-driven platform Yamaha has ever released.
“This isn’t about going faster or carving harder,” said Bryan Seti, General Manager of Yamaha WaterCraft. “The CrossWave is about going farther and doing more — with the space, flexibility, and purpose that a growing segment of the PWC industry has been waiting for. It’s part utility vessel, part explorer, and 100% Yamaha.”
A Platform That Redefines What a PWC Can Be
At nearly 13 feet long and 67 inches wide, the CrossWave is significantly larger than a traditional WaveRunner — almost two feet longer and a foot and a half wider than Yamaha’s luxury performance FX® Series — offering an unmatched sense of space and stability. With oversized 16-inch footwells, 3.5-inch gunwale steps, and a flat, marine-matted deck that flows uninterrupted from bow to stern, getting on and off the CrossWave is easy and intuitive from any direction. The open bow area is a key part of the platform’s signature feature: a full walkaround layout that allows true 360-degree mobility and all-day comfort on the water.
It’s the only personal watercraft in the industry with this kind of full walkaround bow and deck — and the only one designed from the ground up to carry up to four passengers. The third and fourth seats are removable, transforming the stern into wide-open deck space perfect for coolers, fishing gear, or simply stretching out.
Storage is another area where the CrossWave resets expectations. With 82 gallons of total capacity, it has more onboard storage than any personal watercraft in the industry — including a rod storage compartment, a dedicated anchor locker in the bow (sized to fit a 5-lb anchor and 3-gallon bucket), and dual in-hull stern compartments.
The entire deck is lined with Yamaha’s integrated T-Track system, which accepts a wide range of lifestyle accessories — from washdown kits and rod holders to trolling motor brackets and shallow water anchors — allowing riders to personalize the layout based on the adventure they’re planning.
Technology That Works as Hard as You Do
The CrossWave sets a new standard in helm design, featuring the industry’s first floating console with dual touchscreen displays: a 7” Connext® touchscreen and a 7” Simrad® NSX® chartplotter/fishfinder. This innovative interface is built around Yamaha’s modern control experience and offers both intuitive usability and deep customization for confident operation in any setting.
Adding to the experience are integrated 8” footwell speakers that deliver rich Bluetooth® audio straight from the factory. The platform is also prepped to support additional audio components, allowing owners to build out a full entertainment system onboard.
To support the advanced power demands of these electronics and future accessories, the CrossWave breaks from traditional PWC design and comes pre-wired for a Group 24 deep cycle marine battery — the first in the industry to do so. This approach ensures dependable, long-lasting power, especially for riders planning to integrate trolling motors, lighting, or other high-draw equipment.
Further enhancing this power management system is the inclusion of the industry’s first built-in battery switch, located in the starboard stern compartment. This simple but essential feature allows riders to quickly disconnect the battery when the unit is not in use — preventing parasitic power drain and helping extend battery life between rides.
Yamaha has also brought one of its most popular boating innovations to the CrossWave: its patented cleanout port, adapted from the company’s jet boats. This is the only personal watercraft in the industry with a cleanout port that allows riders to clear debris from the jet pump without ever getting in the water.
Beneath the seat is Yamaha’s 1.9L High Output Marine Engine — the largest displacement engine in the PWC industry. Whether cruising open water, exploring quiet back bays, or relaxing at anchor, this proven powerplant delivers efficient, responsive performance for every kind of outing.
One Model. Infinite Possibilities.
The CrossWave is offered in a single, fully equipped premium configuration. Rather than locking buyers into fixed trim levels, Yamaha gives owners the freedom to personalize their CrossWave through a growing catalog of modular accessories—so every unit can be tailored to the way they ride. From fishing kits and casting decks to leaning posts and extra seating, this platform delivers a level of versatility never before seen in the personal watercraft category.
Every CrossWave also comes factory-equipped with a custom-fit Yamaha marine trailer and a 55-quart cooler—making it the only PWC in the industry to include both as standard.
Pricing and Availability
The Yamaha CrossWave™ will be available at WaveRunner dealerships nationwide in Spring 2026, with pricing to be announced closer to retail launch.
